Ronald "Sucker Buddy" Murphy

Ronald E. Murphy, (Sucker Buddy) age 84, passed away on September 23, 2026.

He was born on May 27, 1942, in Mobile, Alabama, to Frances H. Bruce Murphy.

Ronald was a proud Army veteran and dedicated 34 years of his life to serving the Nashville community as a firefighter with the Nashville Fire Department. His years of service reflected his commitment to helping others and making a difference in the lives of those around him. He was a member of St Ann's Catholic Church. Outside of his career and military service, Ronald enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. One of the roles he cherished most was being an uncle. He treasured his family and the memories made together and will be remembered for the love and kindness he shared with those closest to him.

Ronald is survived by his beloved wife Brenda Murphy; his siblings Shirley Murphy, Barbara Murphy, Rebecca Murphy; brother Joseph Murphy; along with his nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends who will miss him dearly. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family will receive friends on Saturday September 26, 2026, from 9:00 AM- 10:00 AM at St. Ann Catholic Church 5101 Charlotte Pike Nasvhille, TN 37209 where a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM with Father Rev. Davis Chackaleckel.  Interment to follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Hwy 100 Nashville Tn 37221 with Deacon Jim Hozemaer officiating.
