Mary Janice McGee

Mary Janice McGee, age 80 of Thompsons Station, TN passed away June 24, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Janice was born June 21, 1945 to the Eugene and Cleo Crafton White. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1963. Janice worked for Dr. Dewitt Owen until his passing in 1996. Following that, she and her husband Walter opened Spring Hill Florist, which they owned for 16 years. Janice and Walter enjoyed crappie fishing with friends and family on the Tennessee River. She was past president of the Spring Hill Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. She was also a member of Cowles Chapel Methodist Church.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. McGee whom she married in October of 1964; daughter, Christy McGee Vernon; sisters, Ruth Rivers and Carolyn Dye, and brothers Presley “Bubba” White and Roy White. She is survived by her sister Betty Ambrose, several nieces and nephews, and one special niece, Kay McCoy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Cowles Chapel Methodist Church with visitation two hours prior, Bro. Earl Davis to officiate. Honorary Pallbearers include Lonny Hazelwood, Derrick McCollum, Dee Richardson, Roy White Jr., Jay Vernon and members of Cowles Chapel Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cowles Chapel Methodist Church.
