Joanne King

Joanne King, age 73, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 4, 2026. She was born on April 13, 1953, in Franklin, Tennessee, to Jesse W. Martin and Grace C. Martin.

Joanne was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and for the many ways she cared for those around her. She took pride in helping others, caring for her home and family, and serving the Lord.

Joanne was a member of Jones Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Thompson’s Station.

She was preceded in death by husband, Joe W. King, Jr., parents, Jesse W. Martin and Grace C. Martin, brothers, Donald, David, Dennis, Delbert, Gilman, Danny, Delmer, Benton, & granddaughter, Josie Schmidt.

She is survived by her children, Chad King (Jessica), Cindy Southall (Lance), and Jessica Maynard (Eddie); along with a total of ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her sisters, Carolyn Judd, Janice Walls, and Debbie Klingler (Jeff); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She is also lovingly remembered by her caregiver, Christine Brooks.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Jones Chapel Church of the Nazarene, 3864 Johnson Hollow Rd, Thompsons Station, TN 37179. A Funeral service celebrating Joanne's life will be held at 1:00 PM With Bro. Gary Fewell & Jeff Klinger Officiating. She will be laid to rest at Sparkman Cemetery in Franklin, Tennessee.

Joanne's memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
