Eric Wright, 52 of Thompson’s Station passed into the arms of Jesus on July 31, 2025. Eric was born in Buffalo, New York to Jimm and Risa Wright on July 27, 1973. Eric is survived by his wife Michelle and their children Quinn, Ella (daughter-in-law), Jenson and Jocelyn, his loving brother Todd (Carissa) Wright, his loving parents Jimm and Risa Wright, his two brothers-in-law Jeff Fink (Jeanette), and Bryan (Luckie) along with many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
In 1974, Eric’s family moved to Ft. Myers, FL where they lived until he completed middle school, followed by a family move to Goshen, Indiana near South Bend, IN. After graduation from Northwood High School, Eric attended North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he studied theater. In 1995, he made the trek to Nashville to pursue a career in the music business.
He met his beloved wife of 24 years, Michelle (Fink) and they married on December 29, 2001, at Wightman Chapel in Nashville.
In 2003, Eric and Michelle started their family. An avid Nashville Predators fan, Eric played and coached his sons’ youth ice hockey teams making a long-lasting impact on many young players and families. In 2007, they relocated to Buffalo for Eric’s new job with a digital agency, and Michelle was able to stay home with the boys.
Then in 2010, since the boys were now school aged, they moved back to Nashville for Michelle’s job with Provident Music. In 2012, they welcomed their daughter, Jocelyn. Shortly thereafter, a job opportunity for both Eric and Michelle led them to relocate to the central coast of California. Here is where Eric experienced his most rewarding work in ministry at Mighty Oaks, an organization that supports veterans until that organization relocated to southern California following which Eric was then hired as the Assistant Food & Beverage Director at the Cliffs Resort and Spa in Pismo Beach, CA where he worked for over 7 years. In this position, he filled many roles including mentor and father figure to many of his staff, in true Eric form.
After both boys were off to college, Eric and Michelle prayed for God’s direction for next steps in their journey. God made it clear and provided a job opportunity for Michelle back in Nashville with her alma mater, Greenville University, as director of the CMC, its satellite music program based in Nashville. The family moved to Nashville in January of this year.
Eric’s current social media profile describes him as a: Self-proclaimed Jesus follower, proud American, patriot, people lover, storyteller, metaphor mixer, dad joke teller, encouragement giver, and wave watcher
Isaiah 44:22
Eric’s deeply rooted, immense faith in Jesus, even while enduring immense trials is inspirational. He always held a holy boldness in life, but over the last 6 months shared that he saw God through a new lens. All along his medical journey he could be heard praising the name of Jesus, a poignant glimpse perhaps, of what he is more fully and completely experiencing now and will be forever, where the hope of his family now lies.
